
Head out to one of these local farms for berry picking in Ottawa. It’s the perfect summer activity searching for the ripest berries and then enjoying them in your favourite meals. Each year is different so make sure to check the status of the berries before going. Strawberry season generally starts mid-june and raspberry season generally starts mid-july.
Shouldice Berry Farm and Market – Opening Late June
3 locations: Bells Corners (3451 Richmond Road), Barrhaven (2901 Woodroffe Avenue), Nepean (2110 Merivale Road)
Go berry picking in Ottawa at Shouldice Berry Farm & Market. You can pick strawberries or raspberries at all of these locations. You can also take home jams, relishes, salsa’s and more from their farm shops.

Visit Rochon Gardens for berry picking in Ottawa. They are opening in late June, so keep checking their website. They also have produce available for purchase at their online store (minimum $20 purchase) and available for pickup at the Parkdale Market (Thursday-Sunday), Byward Market (Thursday-Sunday) and Lansdowne Farmers’ Market (Sunday).
Proulx Farm

Visit Proulx Farm for berry picking in Ottawa. Proulx Farm has maple syrup, strawberries, and in-season produce for sale. Strawberry season is underway and they recommend you call beforehand for picking conditions. Raspberry and Blueberry season will be available throughout July. They also have weekly and bi-weekly produce boxes available in their online store.

Rideau Pines Farm

Head to Rideau Pines Farm for berry picking in Ottawa. They offer more than 9 varieties of strawberries and raspberries. Strawberry picking season has started and is set to last until July 15th. Picking sizes are quart, 2 litres, and 4 litres baskets.
Hours: Monday to Saturday 8am – 8pm, Sunday noon to 6pm.
Millers Farm and Market – Open June 20th

Enjoy berry picking in Ottawa at Millers Farm and Market. This farm is family owned and operated and has been around since 1981. You can pick strawberries, raspberries, currants and gooseberries. The season usually starts mid-June. Check out their produce and garden centre before you leave for more fresh products.
Hours: Daily 8am-5pm
Dogs are allowed if they’re on a leash and you pick up after them.
Avonmore Berry Farm
46 minutes from downtown.
Go berry picking in Ottawa at Avonmore Berry Farm. The Strawberry season is currently underway. They have tractor rides, a children’s play area, and a pantry to keep everyone entertained. There is a variety of fresh produce available for purchase on their website.

Needham’s Market Garden

Visit Needham’s Market Garden for berry picking in Ottawa. They have a variety of fruits, vegetables, and fruit wines for sale year round. They have three different kinds of strawberry wine available (sweet, dry, and extra dry). These items are available for purchase in their online store and can be picked up at their country store.

Hugli’s Blueberry Ranch
1 hour 26 minutes from Ottawa
Add berry picking on to a day trip to Pembroke. They’ve been growing and selling blueberries for over 30 years. Pick your own season is usually mid July to early September. There are 17 acres of blueberries with 17 different varieties that ripen at various times. If you have kids, bring them to the Hugli’s Family Fun Play Park (admission required).
