November 7
Outstanding In Their Fields
Nov. 1, City Hall from 7-9 pm
This taste and buy event is the perfect opportunity to find your new favourite wine! You’ll have the opportunity to discover over 100 outstanding wines from across Ontario. It’s a great opportunity to stock up before the holidays with wines you won’t find at the LCBO. Along with the wine, there will also be festive gourmet goodies & delicious artisan cheese.
I’m so excited to also share that Ottawa Lifestyle has a booth and we’ll be selling all our classic merch including toques, snapbacks, and water bottles! Make sure to stop by our table and say hi!
Walk around and try samples and then at the end of the night you can mark which wines were your favourite and they’ll be delivered to your house. Buy your ticket in advance here.
Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Drop on Parliament Hill
Now until Nov. 11, 6:30-9:30 pm, Parliament Hill
Head to Parliament Hill to see the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Drop installation projected against Centreblock. You’ll see 117,000 poppies drop to commemorate each Canadian fallen soldier since the beginning of WW1.
November 8
Orléans Cork and Fork Festival 2019
Nov. 8-9, Shenkman Arts Centre, multiple times
Head to Orleans for the first-ever “Cork and Fork Festival.” This event brings together wineries, distilleries, ciders, and craft beer under one roof at the OrlĂ©ans Shenkman Art Centre. You’ll also be able to sample delicious cuisine, listen to amazing live entertainment, and enjoy exciting demonstrations.
Ottawa’s 4th Annual Salsa Convention
Nov. 8-11, multiple times, Canadian Museum of History
Dance the night away at Ottawa’s 4th Annual Salsa Convention. You can look forward to over 20 dance workshops ( all levels welcome, no experience or partner needed). You’ll have the opportunity to see over 60 dance performances by nationally and internationally dancers. Hit the dance floor for 3 evenings full of dancing.
Toonie Beer Night at the Ottawa 67’s Game
Nov. 8, 7 pm-10pm, TD Place
Back by popular demand, cheer on the Ottawa 67’s and enjoy beers for $2. You can buy tickets here.
November 9
Repair Café at Makerspace North
Nov. 9th, 10 am-3 pm, Makerspace North
Renew an old item at Repair Cafe at Makerspace North. Volunteers will help you fix items and share knowledge. The event is free and is hosted by the Ottawa Tool Library. They ask that you only bring one item as there is limited time and space.
Ottawa Comiccon: Holiday Edition 2019!
Nov. 9-10, multiple times, EY Centre
Admission is free for this holiday edition of Ottawa Commiccon. Expect comic books, collectibles, cosplay and more!
Ottawa Pet Expo
Nov. 9-10, 10-6 pm, EY Centre
Head to Commiccon then pop over to the Ottawa Pet Expo! You can bring your pets right into the show where they can try treats, play with toys, learn from expert vets and more.
A Time To Remember
Nov. 9th-11th, multiple times, Canadian Aviation and Space Museum
Learn more about wartime history and reflect for November 11th at the Canadian Aviation and Space Museum. They have multiple activities including concerts, commemorative poetry, kids tour, printmaking workshop and more.
XO Ball
Nov. 9th, 7 pm-1 am, Ottawa Art Gallery
Join the Ottawa Art Gallery on their pink carpet for the first-ever XO Ball. Your ticket includes complimentary drinks from Dominion Brewing Co. Top Shelf Distillers, BUCHIPOP and more! There will also be food by Jackson, Farinella, YOW Popcorn and more. Enjoy building-wide activations including live art and performances.
November 10th
Bend and Brew Yoga
Nov. 10th, 2-4 pm, Mill Street Brewpub
Combine craft beer and yoga for this 3rd annual Movember Yoga event. Enjoy a yoga session followed by a brew from Mill Street. You can get tickets here.
Letters In A Time of War
Nov. 10th, 4-6 pm, Canadian War Museum
From the trenches to the homefront, this poignant event features readings of letters written by Canadian soldiers, accompanied by live historical music. You can get tickets here.
DCBC x Juniper Farm x Jordan Holley Pop-up Brewery Kitchen
Nov. 10th, 4-8 pm, Dominion City Brewing Co.
Head to Dominion City Brewing Co. for this pop-up collaboration with Juniper Farm and Jordan Holley of Riviera. There is no cover or reservations.
