Nature Nocturne: A Night Out At The Museum of Nature

Nature Nocturne

Once a month, the Museum of Nature transforms into the magical Nature Nocturne. I’ve celebrated birthdays here and enjoyed so many nights out that I will always remember. It’s a unique experience unlike no other where you will explore the galleries after hours, indulge your curiosity with amazing activities and enjoy great music and mingling. The next Nature Nocturne is April 28th and here’s everything you have to look forward to:

New Monthly Themes

Not only can you attend Nature Nocturne monthly but there is also a new theme for every party. With the unique theme also comes creative activities and exciting surprises. April’s theme is Deep Blue where you can plunge into an ocean-inspired evening. Go all out and wear a nautical or mermaid inspired outfit. You can also enjoy themed activities like touching a live sea star or seeing Aerial Antics “merfolk” doing aerial acrobatics. Upcoming themes are:

May 31st: Flower Power

June 28th: Super Fly

Dance Under A Giant Jellyfish

Yes, you read that right! The Queen’s lantern in the Museum of Nature turns into a dancefloor for Nature Nocturne and you’ll have the giant jellyfish art piece right above you. How many times can you say you’ve danced under a giant jellyfish?! For me….at least 6 times…I’m a huge fan of Nature Nocturne.

Explore the Exhibits

For April’s Nature Nocturne you’ll still have access to exhibits that will be ending on April 28th like Butterflies in Flight. Enter a tropical room full of butterflies and if you’re lucky they’ll land on your bright coloured clothing. I recently visited and it was so beautiful watching them flutter around and seeing nature’s beauty through the unique wing patterns and designs. Make sure to purchase this on top of your ticket. It’s only $5 + hst (but free for museum members!)

Nature Nocturne

The second exhibit you won’t want to miss before April 28th is Survival of the Slowest. For this exhibit, you’ll be introduced to some of Nature’s slowest animals but also learn how sometimes it can be an advantage. Come face-to-face with live iguanas, bats, rattlesnakes, hedgehogs and, of course, their sloth!

At each Nature Nocturne, you’re able to browse through permanent exhibits like the fossil, earth, mammal and Canadian arctic galleries.

Everything You Want In A Night Out…And More

You’ll be steps from a bar wherever you explore as the museum turns into a 4-level luxury nightclub! Enjoy a cocktail, Beau’s beer or get bottle service in the lounge, La Mezz (make sure to book ahead of time).

Start and End Your Night on Elgin Street

You’ll find the Museum of Nature at the end of Elgin Street, making it the perfect spot to start and end the night! Meet your friends here for dinner and drinks before the party starts at 8 pm and then continue the party after midnight on Elgin Street. While you’re there join in on #GameOfCones by I Dig Elgin. For every $10 you spend at participating businesses you’ll receive a stamp. After 10 stamps you can submit your ballot to win a $2500 Elgin Street prize pack! Visit participating bars and restaurants to get stamps before and after Nature Nocturne.
