Located in the picturesque Laurentians, Mont Tremblant and its famous Tremblant Resort are a winter wonderland for adventure seekers of all levels. Whether you’re strolling through the European-style village, conquering the slopes, or venturing into new experiences like scaling an icy waterfall, there’s an abundance of thrilling activities to fill your winter getaway. I recently embarked on a journey to Mont Tremblant region, eager to try new winter activities and immerse myself in the enchanting spirit of the season. Here’s a guide to the unforgettable experiences that await you in this charming Quebec town.
When Should I Visit Tremblant?
Tremblant Resort is a four-season destination, but if you’re craving a true winter wonderland experience, visit between December and March. This is when the mountain is blanketed in snow, the ski trails are in prime condition, and the village has winter magic, complete with twinkling lights and cozy après-ski spots.
How Long Should I Stay in Tremblant?
We stayed for four nights, and there was plenty to keep us busy. It’s also a perfect weekend getaway destination if you want a quick getaway.

How to get to Tremblant Resort?
Tremblant is a perfect road trip destination with only a 1.5-hour drive from Montreal and a 2-hour drive from Ottawa. There’s also the option to take a shuttle from Montreal-Trudeau Airport (YUL).
How high is Mont Tremblant?
Mont Tremblant boasts a 645-metre vertical drop and 102 ski trails across four slopes.
Where to Get Ski and Snowboard Rentals at Tremblant
Head to the Centre Multiservices for ski and snowboard rentals. Book your rentals in advance online here. Their team will take your measurements and find the best equipment for your needs. You can use the Ski Valet service beside the gondola to keep your equipment. I used the rentals for two different activities. More details below.
Winter Activities in Mont Tremblant Region
Mont Tremblant region and Tremblant Resort are a winter playground with a variety of winter activities for all levels! I immersed myself in some winter firsts as a beginner while my fiancé enjoyed the same activities at a more intermediate level. Here are some activities you can’t miss:
Hit the Slopes
No matter your skill level, Mont Tremblant is the perfect place to hit the slopes. With a 645-meter vertical drop and 102 ski trails spread across four distinctive sides all linked to the 360 summit serviced by 14 lifts, there’s something for everyone—from gentle greens to adrenaline-pumping double black diamonds. Whether you’re carving down the mountain like a pro or taking it slow, one thing’s certain: the epic views will take your breath away.

I was a snowboarder the last time I visited Tremblant in winter. This time, I challenged myself and tried skiing for the first time. I signed up for a lesson with the Ski School, and after a quick refresher on the bunny hill, it was time to take on the 6km Nansen run. As a beginner, staring up at the mountain can initially feel overwhelming. As I tackled the mountain, I was reminded it’s a step-by-step process and not as scary as it may appear.
It was helpful having an instructor give tips for certain parts of the run and on my technique. The Nansen Trail was perfect—long, scenic, and easy.

After some practice, we took the panoramic gondola to the top of the mountain. Seeing all the snow-covered trees at the top was a winter dream. I quickly learned how much fun skiing is and how views like this provide extra incentive.
If you’re a beginner reading this, I hope it gives you the confidence to try it yourself. You’re never too old to learn something new! Taking a lesson helped me progress quickly, and I walked away feeling proud of myself and would love to try it again! Tremblant is an incredible place for
first-timers, with plenty of beginner-friendly runs and, of course, those unforgettable mountain views.
Climb an Icy Waterfall
Did you know a hidden icy waterfall is nestled in the forest, tucked between the slopes? Even more incredible, you can climb it in the winter! If you listen closely, you might even catch the sound of the water running beneath the ice!
I was initially nervous because I had never done anything like this before! But once we arrived at the waterfall, my nerves melted away. Part of this was due to the sheer beauty of the waterfall itself, but there was also something about being surrounded by snow that calmed my fear of heights.
This was my first time trying an activity like this, but it’s perfect for beginners! We met our guide at Le Centre d’Activités Mont-Tremblant (make sure to wear your ski boots). He walked us through putting on boot picks, and then we hiked for 10 minutes to the waterfall’s base. Our experienced instructor taught us the basics—belaying techniques, abseiling, and rock climbing essentials. We learned everything, from how to use the spikes on our boots to mastering the ice axes. Book the experience here.

Then, it was time to climb! My fiancé has prior rock climbing experience, so I let him go first and followed his lead. He picked it up quickly and reached the top in no time! As for me, I knew it would be a slow and steady climb. I focused on getting comfortable with the feeling of the ice axe and boot picks gripping the ice as I made my way up. What stood out to me most was the strategy—figuring out the best spots for the boot picks, what to do when the axe slips, and when to take a break. My fiancé and I took turns climbing, and we got a little better with each attempt. It’s such a rewarding feeling to see your progress as you challenge yourself to try something new!
One of the coolest moments was when my fiancé made it higher up the waterfall, and his axe created an opening in which we could see the water running through!
Go Skating at Saint-Bernard Chapel
Saint-Bernard Chapel is the perfect spot for a scenic skate day and night. We went for a night skate, and I was enchanted by the twinkling lights and vibrant colours that lit up the rink. As if the experience wasn’t magical enough, it began to snow, creating a winter wonderland that felt straight out of a movie. Afterward, warm up by the bonfire.

You can bring your own skates or rent them on-site for free with proof of accommodation (first come, first served). The rink is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, so there’s plenty of time to glide through this winter dream.
Explore the Village
Spend time exploring this European-esque village full of colourful buildings and charming streets. Day and night, there are so many picturesque views. Grab a spot at one of the many heated patios and fire tables, perfect for an apres ski drink! You can also take the village gondola to enjoy a view from above!

When you’re in Place Saint-Bernard snap a photo with the Bonjour en Glace ice sculpture.

Sentier des cimes Laurentides
Stroll through a beautiful treetop trail leading to a 40-meter-high observation tower offering sweeping panoramic views. Located in Mont-Blanc, Sentier des cimes Laurentides invites visitors to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the Laurentian Forest. While this experience is incredible year-round, there’s something truly spectacular about the wintery landscape along the way. The trail is a 3 km round trip, and as you make your way to the tower, the views of the forest become more enchanting with every step.

As we walked around the winding tower, more of the mountain views came into focus. The view from the top is stunning, with Mont Tremblant visible in the distance.
For a truly unique thrill, there’s a mesh net you can walk across at the summit. It took me a moment to gather the courage, but I’m so glad I did!
We learned that the tower is a concept from Europe that helps people appreciate the beauty of their surroundings when immersed in nature. With the educational stations along the way, there are plenty of opportunities to learn about the ecosystem and the region.

Sentier des cimes has thoughtfully made the experience accessible, with an elevator to the main trail and a flat path to the top.
After your 3 km adventure, treat yourself to a delicious meal at Chez Émile. We warmed up with a comforting fondue and classic poutine and ended the day by sipping warm apple cider by the bonfire. It’s a perfect way to cap off a wonderful experience!
Gourmet Sauvage
Beside Sentier des cimes, you’ll find Gourmet Sauvage, a wonderful shop full of wild products foraged from Quebec. Gourmet Sauvage offers more than 100 handpicked products from all regions of Quebec. You’ll find a unique variety of items inside. They want people to have the opportunity to experience the many gifts of nature’s bounty which are showcased in many of
their products. They offer a wide selection of wild groceries, body care, and books on foraging yourself.
We had the opportunity to taste and test a few of the items. The first was a cedar jelly. I never would have thought cedar could be a jelly flavour, but they were delicious, and I immediately thought of how they would pair with charcuterie, given their unique flavour. We also tried the birch syrup, which was tasty and had a sharper taste than maple syrup. Other items include boreal spice sets, herbal teas and more.
Snowshoe at Domaine St. Bernard
Domaine St. Bernard is a breathtaking natural sanctuary in Mont Tremblant, where towering pine trees and forest animals create a serene escape. This local gem spans over 25 square kilometres of forest, meadows, lakes, and more—an ideal place to immerse yourself in nature.

We embarked on a guided snowshoe tour with D-Tour, which provided transportation, equipment, and an expert guide. Our adventure took us along Les Manics, a peaceful 2.2 km forest trail. Walking through the snow-draped trees was pure magic. The forest was so quiet I could tune into nature’s sounds.

One of our favourite parts was the friendly chickadees! If you grab some bird feed from the main office, these little birds will happily land right on your hand. Our guide said they would even perch on our heads—and they did! As the chickadees landed on our head, our guide whispered “there’s a deer.” I turned to my right and saw a deer trotting through the snow. I couldn’t believe our luck, and we watched silently as the deer passed. Afterward, we snowshoed to a bonfire station and warmed up with hot chocolate. Once we returned to the main office, we spotted a baby deer—an unexpected but perfect ending to an already magical experience.
Where to Stay in Tremblant Resort
We enjoyed being at the heart of the action at Fairmont Tremblant. This ski-in-ski-out hotel has luxurious rooms, restaurants, and fun apres-ski activities. We could park the car and walk everywhere for our trip. My favourite part was enjoying the spectacular views of the village and mountain from our room. Fairmont Tremblant has exceptional service and goes above and beyond for your stay to ensure you’re comfortable and have everything you need. We even needed a temporary repair for a cut in Erik’s snow pants, and one of their team members helped tape it up for us.

Upgrade your visit with Fairmont Gold. You’ll have a private reception and access to an exclusive lounge with special offerings like breakfast, tea time, appetizer bites and more. For winter, they have a Canada Goose lending program where you can borrow a jacket for the day!
Aprés-Ski at Fairmont Tremblant
Keep the good vibes going on the epic Aprés-Ski Terrace at Fairmont Tremblant. Enjoy drinks by the fire, in a gondola or in a Dome at the Apres-Ski Terrace. Enjoy specialties like spiked hot chocolate, mulled wine and more. Visit on Saturdays, and they have a live DJ playing. The terrace is nestled right at the bottom of the Nansen Trail, so you can ski right up to it and immediately enjoy the fun!

Relaxing at Fairmont Tremblant
Enjoy the gorgeous outdoor pool terrace overlooking the hill. It’s the perfect spot to relax. You can even order drinks and food from the hot tub. It features a regenerating thermal circuit, including a seasonal waterfall, pool and hot tub overlooking the mountain. Inside, you’ll find a heated pool and sauna. There is also the Moment Spa, where you can book services like massages, facials, and more. We booked a tandem massage. It was the perfect way to relax after lots of adventures. Their skilled team will ask if you have any problem areas and customize the massage. We felt completely relaxed after the massages and then took a moment to hydrate in their relaxation room.

Dining at Fairmont Tremblant
Axe Lounge Bar – Enjoy artisan cocktails in this cozy lounge. Try one of their 40 Quebec spirits. I recommend getting their T-Patate, a deliciously layered hashbrown dish, and enjoying it by the fire or with views of the village.

Le Comptoir – before a day of adventures, enjoy a breakfast of champions with the famous Fairmont buffet. You’ll find a wonderful spread that includes maple crepes, gourmet cheese, custom omelets, fresh orange juice, and more.
Choux Gras Brasserie Culinaire – enjoy an upscale dinner with excellent ambiance and modern decor. They have an impressive wine list with over 225 wines from around the world. Perfect for pairing with one of their mains like the filet mignon.
More Restaurants to Try in Tremblant Resort:
La Savoie
Enjoy your own personal raclette or fondue at this charming restaurant in the village. La Savoie is a village staple that has been around for over 30 years and is a local favourite. We couldn’t resist getting the raclette, and we learned their machines are directly from Savoie, along with the cheese.

It was such a fun and delicious experience. If you go in a bigger group, you can get a mix of raclette and fondue to share at a table! We ended the night with their chocolate fondue. This is a spot you can’t miss when you’re in Tremblant.
Maison de la Crêpe
Walk into this adorable cabin-like restaurant to enjoy a world of crepes. Maison de la Crêpe is a crêperie offering delicious sweet and savoury crepes inspired by the European tradition in Brittany. The brunch crepe caught my eye and was tasty and filling.
La Forge Bistro-Bar & Grill
Enjoy trendy apres-ski bites at La Forge in the village. The heated patio has fire tables, perfect for enjoying a drink. We loved sharing their fondue and tartare.

A Mano Trattoria
Enjoy Italian specialties in the heart of the village. Whether you’re craving warm pasta or a wood-fired pizza, A Mano Trattoria is a slice of Italy in Tremblant.

You’ll find this chalet at the top of the panoramic gondola. It’s the perfect spot to fuel up between trails. You’ll find hearty dishes like chilli, onion soup, burgers and more.
