As the weather turns a little colder, it’s time to embrace some Fall Activities. I love going pumpkin picking and then turning your favourites into something creative like pumpkin pie, jack-o-lantern and more! Here are some spots throughout Ottawa you can pick your own pumpkins and enjoy some fall fun. September/October is the perfect time to go. It’s a great opportunity for some fall fun and to support local farmers during fall harvest. Here are the best spots for pumpkin picking near Ottawa sorted by distance:
The Log Farm
- Open: Thursday to Sunday from 9 am to 4 pm
- 21 minutes from downtown in Barrhaven
- Tickets are $11.50/person
There is plenty of fall fun to enjoy at The Log Farm. First, your perfect pumpkin in their pumpkin patch. Keep the fun going by navigating their 3-acre corn maze, taking a wagon ride through the maple trees, admiring their scarecrows and more. Purchase some snacks at the farm and have a picnic.
Proulx Farm
- Open: Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 5pm
- 30 minutes east from downtown Ottawa
- Tickets: $20.95/person
Enjoy pumpkin picking near Ottawa at Proulx Farm. This farm has a whole festival dedicated to pumpkins called Pumpkinfest. Their farm is transformed into a giant Halloween playground with fun for the whole family. Enjoy face-painting, hay structures, treehouse, and slides, go pedal tricycles, mazes, wagon rides, and more. You can also host birthdays here. If you’re brave, visit them at night for Halloween fun, Skreamers.
Abby Hill Farms
- Open: Daily from 9 am to 5:45 pm
- Time from Ottawa: 32 min

Abby Hill Farms is the perfect roadside pre-picked pumpkin stop where hundreds of pumpkins are waiting for their home. It’s also a cute spot for photos. They offer a variety of fall veggies, squash, apples, and fall decorations.
Fallowfield Tree Farm
- Open: Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 6 pm
- Time from Ottawa: 33 minutes
- Free Admission (certain activities extra)
Enjoy pumpkin picking near Ottawa at Fallowfield Tree Farm. Pick a pumpkin and then enjoy their bonfire and marshmallow roasts, bouncy castle, pony rides, petting animals and more. During the fall they also have hay/wagon rides available. Fallowfield Tree Farm is also dog friendly (make sure they’re on a leash).
Cannamore Orchards
- Open Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm
- Time from Ottawa: 38 minutes East
- Ticket: $16/person (buy in person)
Cannamore Orchards has plenty of festive fun. Choose a pumpkin from their pre-picked selection or find your favourite in their pick your own pumpkin patch. Join them for their family-fun weekends for wagon rides, pedal cars, giant hedge mazes, and more. Cannamore Orchards is also home to ‘Acres or Terror’ a spooky and terrifying event where you can go on their spooky wagon ride, house of terror, spooky village, fog maze and more. Acres of Terror has limited tickets that you need to buy online in advance.
Millers Farm & Market
- Open daily from 8 am to 5 pm
- Time from Ottawa: 38 minutes, Manotick
- Free to visit
This is one of my favourite spots for pumpkin picking near Ottawa. Millers Farm has 8 acres of pick-your-own fall produce, including pumpkins, squash, and gourds. You can also enjoy wagon rides and their corn maze (pay on-site). Enjoy fall adventures with your pup at this spot. Dogs are welcome here if they’re on a leash and cleaned up after.
Saunders Farm
- Open: Friday 6 pm-11 pm, Saturday/Sunday from 10 am to 11 pm
- Time from Ottawa: 45 minutes West, Munster
- Buy tickets in advance
Join Saunders Farm for their Pumpkinfest where they invite you to “come for the fall colours, stay for the gourd times.” While they’re most known for their haunting season and fright fest activities, you can also get pumpkins at Saunders Farm. Why not join in on the festivities and get a pumpkin before you go. There are plenty of perfect pumpkin photo-ops here. Round out your visit with one of their ciders and a pizza, and more farm fun.
Ouimet Farm
- Open Saturday/Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm
- Time from Ottawa: 1 hour from Ottawa in Vanleek Hill
