Enjoy Fun in The Sun At the CHEO BBQ

The 26th annual CHEO BBQ is taking place on June 9th at Shefford Park. It’s a great opportunity to bring out your friends and family for a fun day in the sun for a great cause. This event alone has raised over $700,000 for CHEO over the years and brings 1500 guests yearly and 200+ volunteers every year. All funds raised at this event go to CHEO so you can have an exciting day and also feel good about giving back. Here’s everything you can look forward to at this year’s CHEO BBQ:

1. Get Active with Volleyball, Ultimate Frisbee, and a 5K

Sign up a team for volleyball in the recreational or competitive tournaments, play ultimate frisbee or join their 5K. There are plenty of options for sports at this event. Get that workout in and support CHEO at the same time.

2. Enjoy a Traditional Backyard BBQ

Get active and then refuel with a traditional backyard BBQ including burgers, hot dogs, and veggie dogs! Every item you purchase will go towards CHEO.

3. Participate in a Silent Auction Full of Local Favourites 

Bid in the silent auction on some local favourites like Yuk Yuk’s tickets, Calypso Water Park passes, National Art Center passes, Courtyard Restaurant, Dominion City Gift Basket, Beau’s Beer VIP Tour and more!

4. Bring the Family out for the Family Fun Zone 

Expect plenty of activities, crafts, and entertainment your kids will love in the family fun zone. Your kids will love seeing Little Ray’s Reptiles, participating in kid’s yoga and more.

5) Enjoy a Brew in their Beer Tent

Enjoying beers for a great cause sounds like a fun Saturday to me! After your done with the activities, refresh with a nice cold beer!

6) All Funds Raised Go To CHEO

The CHEO BBQ is completely run by caring community volunteers. I love that all funds raised go directly to CHEO to support important initiatives. Donations help the hospital provide a wide variety of pediatric programs, research, state-of-the-art equipment, medical and nursing education, and assistance for families in crisis. Every child at CHEO benefits from The CHEO BBQ’s contributions through donations and pledges.You can donate directly to CHEO BBQ or pledge a participant/volunteer
