My favourite bonfire activity: making s’mores! Whether you’re at home or camping, it’s the ultimate campfire treat. I love roasting marshmallows to perfection and them making them into a fun treat. This weekend we had a family bonfire and my sister and I decided to switch up the classic s’more. Here are some creative s’mores hacks for your next bonfire.
Need somewhere to have a bonfire?
You can book a campfire at Saunders Farm as a couple, double date, or family. Enjoy a classic campfire with s’mores hotdogs, chips, and more. All you need to bring is your own blanket and chair. They’ll set up and start the fire for you. Since it’s on a farm in small groups, it will be easy to social distance. Book your time slot in advance on their website.
Classic S’more
A roasted marshmallow between two graham crackers and some milk chocolate. Lindt chocolate is one of the best to use. It melts so nicely.
Oreo S’more
Slide the top of the oreo and add in a marshmallow for a fun take on this classic cookie.
Carrot Cake S’more
Grab some carrot cake oreos, twist the cookie portion apart and then add in a melted marshmallow. This was my family’s favourite of all our creations.
O’Canada S’more
This one requires some maple cookies. Slide the top off the cookie and add in a marshmallow! This was my favourite s’more of the bunch. You can also buy maple marshmallows at Loblaws but we decided to up the game with maple cookies – must try!
Peanut Butter Cup S’more
This is for peanut butter lovers. For this you’ll start off with a classic s’more but add in a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup!
Double Chocolate Chip S’more
For this s’more you’ll need a package of President’s Choice Chocolate Chip Cookies. Sandwich the s’more between two chocolate chip cookies and you’re good to go!
Grand Slam S’more
This is one epic s’more for all those with a sweet tooth. This one takes the Double Chocolate Chip S’more but adds in a peanut butter cup!
Sweet and Salty S’more
This is one we’ll try next time. For this you’ll need some classic shaped pretzels. Use the pretzel’s to sandwich the marshmallow and chocolate (use some of the lindt chocolate from the classic s’mores). You’ll be left with a sweet and salty taste.
