I recently had the opportunity to attend a Candlelight Concert tribute to Taylor Swift at Knox Church, and I was absolutely enchanted by the experience. When we walked in, I was awestruck by how gorgeous the venue was. The Knox Church features delicate stained glass windows and magnificent arches. These features, combined with the candles spread around the church, transport you to a wonderland.
How To Get to Candlelight Concerts in Ottawa
The Knox Church is conveniently located adjacent to City Hall. This makes it pretty easy to get to by public transit. I took the O-Train to the uOttawa station and walked for about 10 minutes. I would recommend this route if you’re coming from the East. It’s a really nice walk across the canal and a quieter area of downtown. There is also lots of parking in the City Hall Parkade if you choose to drive.
What to Expect When You Arrive at Candlelight Concerts in Ottawa
The doors to the event open about 45 minutes before the candlelight experience begins but you don’t need to arrive super early. I arrived about half an hour before the concert and there was no line to get in. Friendly staff will scan your ticket at the door and escort you to the seating area you selected.
Seating is first come, first served within your section. I recommend sitting as close to the center aisle as possible so you can get a good view of the musicians.

Let The Show Begin
This was my first time experiencing instrumental music performed live and I wasn’t ready for it. The music was timeless and made me feel like I was in an episode of Bridgerton. The moment the quartet began playing was the moment I knew I was going to love the performance.
The musicians put their own spin on Taylor Swift’s classics, meaning each song hits different. I was surprised by how much emotion the music brought up in me. As the performance continued, I felt at peace, a strong feeling of happiness and all of the other emotions that Taylor Swift’s songs are known to bring up.
This particular concert was put on by the Listeso String Quartet, and each of the musicians was a superstar. I really enjoyed watching how committed they were to the performance and the way they entered a state of grace while they played. It must have taken so much dedication to put on a show that I couldn’t have imagined in my wildest dreams.

The show lasted for about an hour, and when it ended, I just wished it could begin again.
Anyone who gets to experience a candlelight concert dedicated to an artist they love is the lucky one.
Upcoming Candlelight Concerts and More
Fever offers a wide range of concerts, so you’re bound to find something that suits your interest. Upcoming shows include The Best of Hans Zimmer, Favorite Anime Themes, A Tribute to ABBA and more.
You can view upcoming shows and buy tickets for Ottawa shows here. Luckily, these shows are also available in many other cities, so if you don’t live in Ottawa, make sure to check out what concerts are available in your city, like Montreal, Toronto, and more.
Most of the shows offer two times in the evening. We went to the early show, and it was cool to watch the candles get brighter as the sun was setting outside. However, when I go again, I think I would do the later show so that I can get the full experience of the candlelight.
